About the role

The ideal candidate must have a trade background in Carpentry, and solid experience in similar roles and on high-end residential projects. This is a ‘hands on’ job requiring the ability to motivate and lead others by example.

Part of the duties are but not limited to coordinate a build team, applying policies and procedures, helping team members to meet goals, mediating concerns and evaluating the quality of work. Organizing build team tasks, maintaining work standards and resolving issues between team members.

Experience

To be successful you will need to be a qualified Carpenter and have at least 5 years experience in a Leading capacity preferably with a Luxury Residential Builder. You could either be a great Leading Hand Carpenter who is ready to step up to Working Site Foreman or already be a Foreman who is looking to work for a stable company with a great culture. It is essential that you have worked on high-end projects from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Experience managing high-end residential projects
  • Keen eye for detail and have an ability to produce high quality work.
  • Ability to push a team and adhere to program
  • Take on full WH&S responsibility on site.
  • Direction and management of subcontractors and labourers.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and prioritise tasks.
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain good relationships with trades, architects & clients.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, the architect and other key external consultants.
  • Work with the project manager to ensure materials and orders are correct and available.
  • Monitoring all trade works, subcontractors, and site staff.
  • Internal and external set out with subcontractors.
  • Other various duties as directed.
  • Conducting site inductions for staff and sub-contractors
  • Managing the sub-contractors to ensure they are fulfilling their roles and responsibilities
  • Monitoring subcontractors daily in regards to safety, quality and program
  • Management of projects from start to finish, and overall knowledge of all trades.
